Proposal: Regular Public Activity Reports from Obol Foundation

Proposal: Regular Public Activity Reports from Obol Foundation with Delegate Feedback Loop

It’s been a few months since we’ve seen major public updates from the Obol Foundation.
As a result, many community members and delegates feel disconnected from current development, priorities, and milestones.

To address this, I’d like to propose that the Obol Foundation publish regular reports on the forum, summarizing activities, goals, and opportunities for community input.

Suggested Format:

  • Frequency: Monthly or quarterly
  • Content:
    • Progress on key milestones
    • KPIs and achievements (e.g., integrations, development status, grants, etc.)
    • Upcoming priorities and roadmap highlights
    • Open topics or challenges where delegate/community input would be valuable
  • Discussion: Each post should invite feedback and suggestions from the community to help shape Obol’s direction.

Why this matters:

  • Encourages transparency and trust between Foundation and DAO
  • Keeps delegates engaged and informed
  • Enables the DAO to course-correct or reprioritize when needed
  • Prevents loss of momentum or interest due to information vacuum
  • Helps clarify where the project is heading — and how delegates can support it

If the community and the Foundation support this idea, we can agree on a preferred format (forum post, Notion, PDF, etc.) and designate someone to be responsible for publishing updates.

A transparent DAO is a strong DAO.
Would like to hear others’ thoughts on implementing this.

I think this is a great idea to get more insights into what is currently going on.

I’d prefer monthly, because:

  • chance to react faster to challenges
  • easy to revise to quaterly if lacking content
  • easier for people to keep track of smaller updates than bigger ones

I’d suggest having a status list of (planned) activities/engagements that’s refreshed and communicated with each iteration of this report.

It would be helpful to have a chart showing the current stake/nodes secured by Obol.

If it’s targeted information that’s not on X (Twitter).
If it’s just duplication, then there’s no point.

Thanks for putting this forward @cp0x, I support the initiative.

I agree communication hasn’t always been as frequent as it could be, but that’s mostly an appearance: we’ve been heads-down on DeFi work, the grants program, and a few projects that we felt would create the most value for the Collective. Now that the foundation of the Collective is stronger, I agree it’s the right moment to strike a better balance between keeping flexibility to operate competitively and providing transparency to the Collective.

I would be happy to commit to sharing regular activity reports, likely on a quarterly cadence, and sometimes more frequently if there are major updates. These would give an overview of milestones, progress, and open questions where your feedback is valuable.

More broadly, we deeply appreciate the trust and the space to build. Going forward, we want to rely more on the diverse expertise in the Collective to guide us, while still recognizing that on some areas we carry the most context and need room to execute.

Thanks again for the proposal and let’s use this to keep alignment strong as we move forward.

P.S: Small flag that we are an Association, not a Foundation.

and I think this will be useful for the community and delegates.

That’s the point. KPIs aren’t really being published, X is just for PR updates.

This is an excellent proposal. I share the feeling of disconnection with the Obol Foundation. As an Obol matures as a product, it is a good time to double down on the transparency. While some people close to the Foundation may be aware of the recent activities and milestones, most of the community isn’t.

I support the proposal and would like to see it put to the vote as soon as possible.

I think this is a great and much-needed proposal. Bringing regular updates to the forum would make information easier to follow, strengthen transparency, and create a more consistent flow between the Association, the community, and delegates.

It would also make discussions more focused and engaging — when everything is gathered in one place, delegates can react faster, exchange feedback, and build on each other’s proposals. Centralizing them would increase visibility, interest, and collective engagement.
