- Intro
I’m Citizen42, a dedicated web3 governance enthusiast with a track record of fostering decentralized ecosystems. My journey began with a fascination for trustless systems, leading me to actively participate in multiple DAOs accross web3 most notable Threshold Network, Compound, Gearbox, Safe and Velora. I’ve nominated myself for various roles, such as the Threshold Council Committee, thUSD Steering Committee and Integrations Guild, as well as established delegate platforms on Velora and Compound to champion community-driven decision-making.
Obol’s mission to strengthen Ethereum’s consensus layer through DVTs resonates deeply with me. By enabling fault-tolerant, decentralized staking, Obol is paving the way for a more secure and inclusive Ethereum. I’m here to contribute as a delegate, engage in working groups and amplify Obol’s vision through transparent, community-focused governance.
- Delegate Communication Intent
In line with Obol’s Delegate Rules of Engagement, I’m committed to fostering open, respectful and transparent communication. My approach includes:
-
Regular Updates: Monthly posts on the Obol Forum detailing my votes, reasoning and governance activities.
-
Clear Rationales: Thorough reviews of proposals with accessible explanations of my decisions, ensuring the community understands my perspective.
-
Community Engagement: Active participation in the Forum, Discord and working groups, with an open door for feedback via X or direct messages.
-
Civility: Upholding professionalism and constructive dialogue, treating all members respectfully, even in disagreements as mandated by the Rules of Engagement.
I aim to be a bridge between Obol’s technical advancements and its community, making governance approachable and inclusive.
- Why I Want to be a Delegate
Obol’s role in enhancing Ethereum’s resilience through DVTs is critical, but decentralized governance faces challenges like voter apathy, concentrated voting power, and misaligned incentives. I believe DAOs thrive when the community is empowered to shape their future, not sidelined by a few dominant voices or short-term profiteers. Obol’s commitment to a decentralized, sustainable ecosystem aligns with my vision of web3 as a space for self-sovereignty and collective progress.
As a delegate, I’ll tackle these challenges by:
-
Combating Apathy: Encouraging broader participation through clear communication and educational outreach, making governance digestable and accessible to all.
-
Promoting Fair Incentives: Supporting proposals that align token holders with Obol’s long-term health, such as equitable tokenomics or community rewards, to counter exploitative structures.
-
Preventing Centralization: Opposing governance models that concentrate power, ensuring Obol remains a truly decentralized collective.
My experience across DAOs equips me to navigate complex governance dynamics while prioritizing Obol’s core values. I’ll act with integrity, disclose any conflicts and maintain professionalism. As degen I take a long intrest and vision in the protocol and commit to staking OBOL tokens asap and by that I hope I am further aligning myself with the ecosystem’s success, demonstrating my commitment to its growth.
- Disclosure
Transparency is paramount, as emphasized in rules of engagement. I disclose the following:
-
I hold tokens in other web3 protocols, some of which may intersect with Obol’s ecosystem.
-
I have governance roles in other DAOs, including delegate platforms for Velora and Compound, and nominations for Threshold Network Security Committee Council.
-
I have no direct financial ties to Obol’s competitors that would compromise my impartiality.
I will disclose any conflicts of interest before voting, especially if a proposal involves personal or financial gain. If a conflict arises, I’ll abstain and provide a public explanation. I’m also committed to avoiding self-dealing and will seek community approval for any potentially sensitive votes, ensuring accountability at every step.
- Delegation
If you share my vision for a secure, decentralized and community-driven Obol ecosystem, I’d be honored to serve as your delegate. Please delegate to me at:
